150 years of Serving Our Community - 1860 to 2010
Not too many businesses, let alone banks can claim a history of 150 years so it gives me great pride to share our news of solid, stable banking for over a century and a half.
I’ve been the President since 2001 and although banking has changed significantly since 1860, the one common thread that has contributed to our success is a sincere interest and commitment to our community. As was the case in 1860, many of our employees live in the same towns and cities as our customers and that brings with it a strong sense of neighborliness. It matters to us how well our customers succeed so we strive to continue to offer personal attention and prudent guidance along with the best products and services available in the marketplace.
Some accomplishments in 2009 I thought I’d share include:
- A 5 star rated bank for 75 consecutive quarters by Bauer Financial
- Asset growth of 15% to $398 million
- Deposit growth of 16%
- A 30% increase in mortgage applications
This growth is attributed to a dedicated team that has your best interests in mind. As a mutual savings bank, we are not beholden to stockholders but rather to you, our stakeholders and we take our responsibility very seriously.
